\frac{1}{3}1/3\sum_{n=1}^\inftyΣFormulas as you type them
Type LaTeX or press the keys you already know. The formula draws itself in place, and the caret moves through it the way you expect it to.

Formulas render as you type them, Hebrew and English share a paragraph, and the PDF is the page you were looking at.

Let f be continuous on [a,b] and let F be an antiderivative of f. Then
ולכן, עבור f(x)=x^2 על הקטע [0,1], השטח שמתחת לגרף הוא 1/3.

The usual choice
By hand, you see your page after a compile, and a typo stops the compile until you find it from a line number. A structured editor draws the formulas as you type, but where a line ends, where a page breaks and where a figure lands still wait for the PDF. Manifold does both while you write: a mistake shows where you made it, on the real page.
By hand
\begin{theorem} Let $f$ be continuous on $[a,b]$. Then \[ \intt_a^b f(x)\,dx = F(b) - F(a) \] \end{theorem}! Undefined control sequence. l.42 \[ \intt
The typo stops the compile, and the log gives you a line number.
In Manifold
The same typo turns red where you typed it, and is fixed as you write.

Every x has a unique closest point in a closed subspace M.
לכל x יש נקודה קרובה ביותר יחידה בתת־מרחב סגור M.
Each paragraph takes its direction from its own first words, Hebrew and English can share a sentence, and every formula reads left to right. There is no switch to set.
Margins, numbered equations and footnotes at the foot of the page, laid out as you write.
Ask for a derivative, an integral or a limit and get the working, each step naming its rule.
Your .lyx files open with their layouts, formulas, tables and figures, and your macros and keyboard shortcuts come along.
Hebrew, English and mathematics in one document — the outline following along. This is a recreation of the window, animated.
How it works
No account, and nothing else to install for writing. Your documents are files on your own disk.
Press Ctrl M for a formula, and choose a section, a theorem or a proof from the list. The numbering takes care of itself.
A PDF that matches the screen, or LaTeX source for anyone who works in LaTeX.
